Objective: This study aimed to represent and organize the conceptual structure of Islamic parenting in contemporary research through a qualitative meta-synthesis and to provide an integrated conceptual model of its components and their relationships.
Method: This qualitative study employed meta-synthesis. In this approach, 28 domestic and international articles on Islamic parenting, published within the last 10 years and indexed in the Google Scholar database, were selected.
Findings: By reviewing and coding the findings of these articles, 277 primary concepts, 26 sub-categories, and finally 7 main categories were extracted, namely: goals and functions of Islamic parenting, educational foundations of Islamic parenting, dimensions of Islamic parenting, comprehensive educational style in Islamic parenting, tools of Islamic parenting, stage-based and growth-oriented parenting, and parenting competencies. Through the extraction of these components and subsequent coding, an integrated conceptual model of Islamic parenting was developed.
Conclusion: The coherent and systematic framework of Islamic parenting components provides a theoretical and practical model for researchers, educators, parents, and educational policymakers, and facilitates the practical representation of these concepts within the family and educational environments. |
