Abstract:   (261 Views)
Objective: This study aimed to develop an educational program to enhance emotional maturity based on Islamic teachings and to evaluate its effectiveness on moral intelligence.
Method: The research employed an exploratory mixed-methods approach (qualitative and quantitative). In the qualitative section, thematic analysis was conducted using a deductive approach, while, in quantitative section, we utilized a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, control group, and a two-month follow-up period. The content validity index of the educational program was determined by experts, achieving a satisfactory agreement level of 0.88. The sample consisted of 80 senior high school students (40 boys and 40 girls) from Isfahan, selected through multi-stage random sampling and randomly assigned to control and experimental groups (20 boys and 20 girls in each group). The experimental groups received the educational program in ten 90-minute sessions, while the control group did not receive any training. The research instrument was the Moral Intelligence Questionnaire by Lennick, D. and Kiel, F. (2005). Data were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA.
Results: The results indicated that the educational program significantly increased moral intelligence and its dimensions (integrity, responsibility, compassion, forgiveness) in the post-test and follow-up stages (P<0.05).
Conclusion: The findings confirmed the effectiveness of the educational program in enhancing emotional maturity based on Islamic teachings on the moral intelligence of senior high school students, thereby internalizing the concept of Islamic education in them.
