Abstract:   (22 Views)
Objective: This study aims to develop and validate a questionnaire for assessing the school organizational health from an Islamic perspective.
Method: This study was conducted in two main stages employing a mixed-method approach. In the first stage, a qualitative phase, researchers used qualitative research methods like interviews and focus groups with school principals, teachers, and educational experts to identify indicators of organizational health from an Islamic perspective based on a predefined conceptual framework. These indicators were then analyzed using thematic analysis. In the second stage, a quantitative phase, a 109-item questionnaire was developed through a descriptive survey method. After revisions, it was reduced to 79 items. The data collected from the statistical sample were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis.
Results: Factor analysis identified ten main components: principal’s influence, teachers’ commitment and a sense of responsibility, preservation of Islamic values, support for human resources, emphasis on creativity, mutual respect and trust, collaborative decision-making, students’ effort, school facilities, and focus on quality. These factors together explained 65.40% of the total variance. Content validity was verified by expert review, and construct validity was confirmed through exploratory factor analysis. The Cronbach’s alpha for the entire questionnaire was 0.98, and for individual factors ranged between 0.75 and 0.95, indicating high reliability and internal consistency.
Conclusion: The developed questionnaire is a valid and reliable tool for assessing school organizational health from an Islamic perspective. It can play a crucial role in identifying strengths and weaknesses, guiding educational improvement planning, and fostering a supportive and effective school environment.
